Currently Hiring for
Kitchen Manager / Head Chef (Path to Ownership)
Miss Daisy’s needs a dedicated culinary boss to run our kitchen and eventually own the business.
This is not a middle-management position. This is an entrepreneurial role where you are given the keys to the entire back-of-house operation, reporting directly to the owner. We are a small, tight 28-seat neighborhood cafe serving breakfast and lunch.
If you succeed here, the cafe is yours. The immediate goal is to find a capable Kitchen Manager/Head Chef who can master the operation and, over time, transition into an owner-operator role. Ownership potential is exceptionally high for the right person.
As the Kitchen Manager, you will be the Head Chef and chief operator of our kitchen. You will manage one other cook/prep person. This is your kitchen to run.
Core Expectations
- Creative Authority: Full command over daily specials, seasonal menus, and vendor relationships. Your creativity is the differentiator.
- Operational Ownership: Complete management of food costs, inventory, waste control, and compliance. This is your budget.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the small 2-person kitchen team. Your attitude sets the tone for the entire back-of-house operation.
- Execution: Maintain unwavering standards of quality, consistency, and speed across all breakfast and lunch service. Every plate counts.
- Reopening Mission: Work with urgency and commitment to ensure a smooth and successful reopening, optimizing processes for long-term profitability.
Required Experience & Mentality
- Proven experience running a commercial kitchen, preferably in a breakfast/lunch setting.
- Must thrive in a small, fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Must possess the financial acumen to manage costs and drive profit.
- A genuine desire to operate (and potentially own) a successful, local neighborhood restaurant.
If you are ready to stop punching a clock and start building your legacy, apply now!

This role is crucial to creating a positive guest experience, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining the clean, vibrant atmosphere our customers expect. If you love early mornings, fast-paced environments, and working with a great team, we encourage you to apply!
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Experience & Order Management
- Greeting: Warmly greet all guests upon arrival
- Order Taking: Accurately take customer orders in person, over the phone, or via the POS (Point of Sale) system, ensuring all special requests (e.g., allergies, modifications) are clearly communicated to the kitchen.
- Cash Handling: Process payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, and gift certificates, and reconcile the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts.
- Menu Knowledge: Maintain expert knowledge of the entire menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, daily specials, and beverage options, to answer guest questions confidently.
